Question regarding WebMagick and Duckduckgo

Hi,

I can't go to Duckduckgo search engine (https://duckduckgo.com) in WebMagick, when I try I get an error message in WebMagick: The host of this web page can't be contacted. OTOH, I can go to Google, have no problems with Google, except for the strange resolution and text placement, but google still works as search engine.

Any thought? Shortcomings/missing parts in WebMagick?

But https:// for Google search works.....? Try this: Go to http://www.google.com and try the search utility, now you wiil go to a https-site at google. Works in WebMagick, I suspect it is something weak in WebMagick, as it is some old technology and programming.

According to Firefox both duckduckgo and google are using TLS 1.2 for https. I'm pretty sure that WebMagick only supports SSL (the predecessor of TLS).
Maybe Google has a "fallback to SSL" for older browsers?

Seems like I found another lack of feature in WebMagick? One can turn off the encryption in Duckduckgo, but you have to do it from a browser that will support Duckduckgo. There are other ways to use the Duckduckgo search, there are https://duckduckgo.com/html and also https://duckduckgo.com/lite, but I get the same result, i.e. the error message that WebMagick can't connect. There are complaints from people running Web-TV that they can't use Duckduckgo anymore, just depending in the way Duckduckgo have implemented security.

Does anybody here have a hint for a search engine that will work with WebMagick?

What is the best web search service for WebMagick?

I think Ask in general is terrible, especially in Windows, when it shits the system with crap and makes it slow with its plugins, so I will not support that for Geos, even if there is no plugins for Geos. I think Google is the best, even if start page looks weird and the page is all yellow for me. If I make a search and scroll down, Google is working pretty well. I have not experienced "conventional memory full", except in rare occasions. However, I think Duckduckgo have a sympathetic philosophy, making the search non-trackable, and not using "Google-methods" in collecting data, that is why I tested it. I have not tested Webcrawler for a long time, thought it was dead, still some prejudice shows
