Da hier viele noch nie etwas von GEOS-SC , welches auf "StrongARM (ARM)" und "HitachiHD6446x Companion Chip Family SuperH RISC" Prozessoren läuft) gehört hatten, hier mal einige Info-Links zu diesem GeoWorks Projekt:

Geos is also defined by the platform that it is running on. Currently it runs on the Apple II, Commodore 64/128, IBM PC compatible, Hewlett Packard OmniGo 100 and 120, several Brother products, Canon StarWriter Pro 5000, Nokia 9000 series and 9110 series Communicators, MyTurn.com's GlobalPC and three other DOS-based PDA's collectively referred to as the Zoomer. The OmniGo 700LX is not a native Geos platform, and for the rest of the FAQ all references to just "OmniGo" refer to the OmniGo 100 or 120.

The operating system that runs on the Toshiba Genio and Dialo , Seiko-Epson Locatio , and Mitsubishi Moem-D , is a Japanese version of Geos-SC and not a RISC-based version of Geos as earlier reported.

The IBM PC version, also referred to as the desktop version, started as GeoWorks Ensemble 1.0 in November 1990. A copy of Geos 1.2 was also bundled with CD-ROM drives from NEC and Sony as part of a package that included a Geos-based CD player and several DOS-based programs.
The current version is now NewDeal Office Release 3.2A.

Hier erfährt man, dass im Nokia Communicator GEOS 3.0 war und Geoworks dann GEOS-SC mit PersonalJava entwickelte. Nokia hat sich dann aber für das Symbian-OS (EPOC) entschieden.

To further expand its share of the embedded communications OS market, GEOWORKS CORP. has ported its GEOS-SC wireless communications OS to the ITRON (Industrial TRON — The Real-Time Operating System Nucleus) specification, which is used in about a third of all Japanese devices with embedded software. The Alameda, California company's move gives ITRON users instant access to a modern graphical user interface, a rich set of program and data object libraries, support for Internet protocols, e-mail and Java, and a full-featured HTML browser — all of which requires very little memory and processing power.

Die GEILSTE :-))) Seite habe ich für den Schluss aufgehoben. Hier erfährt man von einem Ex-Geoworks Mitarbeiter, dass der ursprüngliche Name des GEOS-SC "Liberty" war UND man sieht (ich glaube viel haben dies noch NIE gesehen) total GENIALE PDAs und Handys mit GEOS-SC, die in Europa nie erhältlich waren: - Pocket Communicator Toshiba Genio (Wahhhnsinn!!!) - Screen Shots davon: pretty cool! (GEOS-SC japanisch!!!) - The Toshiba Dialo (basically a Genio) - The Toshiba Camesse - The Mitsubishi Moem-D More like a cell phone, less like a PDA. I think a bit off the mark -- it is big and clunky compared to other cell phones in Japan.
