PC/GEOS 6 Questions

    Hi here are my questions regarding Geos 6 hopefully they can be answered.


    PC / GEOS SYSTEM V6
    1. Is the new GEOS software going to be in English?
    2. What is Free GEOS
    3. How dose Free GEOS relate to PC / GEOS System V6?
    4. How do I get a copy of GEOS?
    5. Can PC / GEOS System 6 Support a newer way of connecting to the internet other than dial up?
    6. Are there any GUI "Look and Feel" improvements?

    Hi Brett!
    You can connect to internet using ethernet (cable) in Breadbox Ensemble 4.x or New Deal Office 2000, if your ethernet card have support for a packet driver or ODI. Packet driver is preferred. You also need to set up a static ip-address. The config is manual so it is a bit of tweaking. There is also support for DHCP in Geos, but I have only succeeded to connect on the Global PC using DHCP.
    There is no modern wifi-support.

    Still, there can be simpler ways to configure ethernet than the present.

    Geos 4 = ndo 2000, bbe 4.x etc.
    Geos 5 = FreeGeos = Geos 4 with all 3rd-party-stuff replaced by open source software plus a better memory usage
    Geos 6 = 32-bit version of Geos 5

    Geos 5 is still under construction.
    Geos 6 is planned, but development has not been started. Hence, nobody can answer your questions.
