NewWrite Export with Embedded Graphics

Here's one way to convert a NewWrite file with graphics intact to another word processor format (black and white only).

Configure your modem fax program to capture the printer output from NewWrite. Capture the NewWrite file as a fax file and then use an OCR (optical character recognition) software. The fax file will generate a bitmap which you can convert to BMP or PCX, etc.

This way you can replicate the actual page layout pretty faithfully in the other word processor including pictures, letterhead, logos, and everything would appear in its proper location. The next thing is to insert the text that was OCRed over the image of the text in the bitmap.

The bitmap produced by this method will be of higher quality than if you were to use the Screen Dumper.
