NewDeal Hot Tip 1618

[Hot Tips for...] GEOS.INI

GEOS.INI: [serial]

The [serial] category defines the interrupt levels for the serial ports.

port<number> = <number>
Multiple keys of this type may be used. If no entry is provided here, NewDeal will attempt to force an interrupt from the port and obtain the level that way, but it will only check for levels 4 and 3. To use a port at some other level (5, for example), you must have an entry for the port here. This is usually set from the Preference manager, in the Computer module. Note also that level "2" for a card on an AT is actually level "9".

EXAMPLES:

port1 = 4
port2 = 3
port3 = 5
port4 = 3 (May not work if port 2 is already in use)
