If the printing comes out too large when using IBM mode, switch to the standard or Epson mode driver, or try the IBM Proprinter X24 driver.

Panasonic KX-P 1624

This printer has a setting for Alternate Graphic mode. The setting only works in IBM emulation. For use with our software, the setting needs to be OFF. The ON setting tries to use all 24 pins. The OFF setting uses only 20 pins.

First, you need to check your manual and printer dip switches to see which emulation or mode you are using. The choices here are Standard (Epson) mode and IBM mode.

If you have the Standard mode selected, then select the Epson LQ-1050 (early version) driver. Please note this is the early version driver, not the first one in the list (Epson LQ-1050).

If you have the IBM mode selected, select the IBM ProPrinter X24 driver.

A customer reported a problem printing envelopes to a Panasonic KXP-4410 laser. He solved it by changing the width of the envelope template to 11 inches, then set the PAPER size for printing to 8.5 x 11. This centers the envelope in the page and matches up the template with the location of the envelope in the manual feed slot.

Another customer reported that he was only able to print about half a page on a Panasonic KX-P 4450i laser printer; it appeared that the memory was filling up even though the printer had 1.5 Megs on board. It turned out the printer was set into Panasonic dot-matrix printer emulation (probably the KX-P 1124 or equivalent, which would use the EPSHI24 driver). When switched to Panasonic Laser emulation mode (HP-compatible), the problem was solved. The reason is simply that a page of high-resolution DMP output is a lot more data than of Laser output. First of all, it's 360 dpi instead of 300 (a 44% increase in dots); second, there are a lot more control characters and so forth in graphical DMP output than in Laser output.

The Panasonic Laser Partner 4450 will print multiple copies with no problems, by setting it for multiple copies from the control panel. The first copy takes five minutes, but the additional copies print in less than one minute.

You can also set the printer to legal size paper and feed in letter size to print that last line at the bottom of the page that laser printers often chop off.
