How to install your NewDeal software, Part 2

INSTALLATION MADE EASY

TIP: If during the installation process you enter an incorrect menu choice, or you have made a mistake on a previous screen, simply press ESC to go back one screen or F9 to exit the installation program.

INSTALLING NEWDEAL FROM DOS

Diskette Installation
Insert disk 1 into your disk drive and enter:
a: (where a: is your disk drive)
INSTALL

CD-ROM Installation
Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive and enter:
d: (where d: is your CD-ROM drive)
INSTALL


INSTALLING NEWDEAL FROM WINDOWS 95

Diskette Installation
  1. Insert disk 1 into your disk drive
  2. Double click on My Computer

  3. Double click on the appropriate disk drive

    or

  4. Double click on the Install icon

  5. Follow the on screen instructions
CD-ROM Installation
  1. Insert CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  2. Install will run automatically unless Autorun is disabled
  3. Otherwise, double click on My Computer

  4. Double click on the CD-ROM drive

  5. Follow the on screen instructions

MAIN MENU

Use the up and down arrow keys to select the option you want, then press ENTER to continue.

Standard Install NewDeal SchoolSuite 98
Minimum Install NewDeal SchoolSuite 98
Install Individual Files
Exit
CD-ROM Installation
Install NewDeal SchoolSuite 98
NewDeal's Add-On Products
Install Individual Files
Exit

INSTALL

This section will lead you through the installation process for either the Disk Installation or the CD-ROM Installation: When you have chosen one of the above options either from the Disk Installation or the CD-ROM Installation, you will be asked to make the following choices:
Choose your country
Choose the country in which you reside. Use the up and down arrow keys to select the country you live in, then press ENTER to continue.

Select Your Installation Drive
Choose from the list of available drives where NewDeal will be installed. If you are unsure, choose drive C:.

Choose a Directory
The installer program will suggest a directory name. If you wish to install into a different directory, backspace to remove the suggested name and enter your new directory name. The installation program will now install all the necessary files on to the hard disk you selected.

System Configuration
If your system configuration is incorrect, you may be asked a couple of questions. Choose yes in response to those questions if you are unsure. After the installation is finished, press any key to continue.

NEWDEAL'S ADD-ON PRODUCTS (CD-ROM INSTALLATION ONLY)

This option allows you to install the following add-ons: Use the arrow keys to highlight an Add-On product and then use the Space Bar to select it. Continue to select as many Add-Ons as you want, then press ENTER to begin the installation process.
INSTALL INDIVIDUAL FILES
You should only use this option with the assistance of a NewDeal technical support representative. This option is for replacing damaged or corrupt files.

EXITING THE INSTALLATION PROGRAM
When you have installed everything you want for now, choose Exit from the main menu. You will be returned to where you started from, DOS or Windows 95.

NEWHELP UTILITY IN DOS
If after installing NewDeal SchoolSuite 98 onto your hard disk and reading all of the README.TXT, you are still having difficulties getting NewDeal up and running, try the Newhelp utility from DOS.

To run Newhelp, at the DOS prompt enter the following:

C:
CD\NEWDEAL
NEWHELP

Continue on to Using NewDeal With Microsoft Windows 95 or 98.
